Psychodrama
A few words about Psychodrama
Every person is unique, special, valuable, and necessary. Each individual's experiences are unique, and they perceive them in their own unique way.
Psychodrama is an experiential group method of personality development that gives individuals the opportunity to express themselves through action, thereby enhancing their inherent abilities and creating new ones. This allows them to cope more satisfactorily with challenging situations.
Furthermore, these abilities help individuals to realize and develop roles they need and choose in their lives.
As a technique for delving into an individual's personality, psychodrama enhances spontaneity (as a necessary tool for taking action) and the development of new roles (as a way to handle situations arising from relationships, existential quests, social roles, and everyday stimuli). It also weakens roles and habits that distress the individual and prevent them from being themselves.
This development is what psychodrama promises, which, according to its founder Jacob L. Moreno (1889-1974), is essential for a healthy life.
The psychodramatic approach and philosophy of life focus on the development of healthy aspects of the personality and emphasize elements that encourage a zest for life.
Today, psychodrama is applied in educational, corporate, and mental health settings, as well as in institutions, prisons, hospitals, and other organizations.
